Mobarak Int’l Puppet Festival set for December

The 20th Tehran Mobarak International Puppet Festival is scheduled to be held on December 16-23.

The organizers announced that a call for submissions has been issued for this edition, introducing new sections and a competitive format.

The festival is to be organized in collaboration with the Iranian Association of Performing Arts and the Performing Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

This year’s event will include sections such as stage performances, outdoor shows, international theater, inclusive performances, playwriting, a 100-second virtual space segment, and a section for inventions and technical achievements.

Specialized seminars, educational workshops, experience sharing, and discussion sessions focusing on critique and analysis will also be featured.

New sections, including the 100-second virtual platform category and the inventions and technical achievements category, will be set for the first time in this edition.

Unlike previous editions, which were mostly non-competitive, the 20th edition of the gala will include competitive categories for stage performances and outdoor shows.
